Portfolio two for this semester will be to capture in a photojournalistic style of the South East Australia Basketball League. The reason I choose this was because I photography the basketball games for the Journal newspaper. This does not make me need to make time for the portfolio as I already have to cover the game. I have covered the game for the last two years for the newspaper, and have knowledge of the lighting about the stadiums I will cover. This year thou instead of just covering the action sequence that the paper requires me to do, I will also cover other aspects of the game as in the referee’s decision.
I intend to also experiment with different lenses, and forms of lighting, other than on camera flash, which I have done in the past. Some examples of this are
- Larger aperaure lenses.
- Off camera flash
- Colour balance of the flash with gels
I have not done this before in a photojournalistic fashion, but only action images.
Equipment will be the 1d series of bodies, but will experiment with the lenses.
